South of Salem – The UK’s Hottest Rising Rock Act

Blending classic heavy metal, ‘80s sleaze, and a horror-fueled aesthetic, Bournemouth’s South of Salem deliver a hard-hitting, high-energy rock experience with a modern edge. Known for their explosive live shows, the band has rapidly built a reputation as one of the most electrifying acts in the UK.

In 2020, they found their signature sound while recording their debut album, The Sinner Takes It All, with renowned producer Scott Atkins (Cradle of Filth, Sylosis). The album has since amassed over 2 million streams, setting the stage for their next evolution.

Teaming up with Grammy-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Twin Atlantic), the band unleashed their sophomore album, Death Of The Party, in January 2024. The record stormed the UK charts, landing at:
• #45 – Official Albums Chart
• #4 – Rock & Metal Chart
• #1 – Independent Album Breakers Chart
• #4 – Vinyl Chart
• #4 – Physical Albums Chart
• #7 – Scottish Albums Chart
• #3 – Independent Albums Chart
Critics raved, with Metal Hammer awarding it 8/10 and lead single “Left For Dead” winning the magazine’s reader-voted Track of the Week. Other high praises include 10/10 from Powerplay, 9/10 from Ghostcult, and 8/10 from Distorted Sound. The album has since surpassed 1 million streams.
South of Salem’s relentless touring schedule has seen them share stages with legends like W.A.S.P., Wednesday 13, Hardcore Superstar, and Kris Barras Band, while making their mark at major festivals including Bloodstock (twice), Steelhouse, and Stonedead. Their debut headline tour in 2023 sold out 200-300 cap venues, and with their 2025 tour heading for multiple 400-500 cap sellouts, the momentum is unstoppable.
All of this has been achieved without a label or management, proving that raw talent, drive, and an unforgettable live show can break barriers.
The party’s far from over.
